I have a Dell computer credit card that is 3 months delinquent. Can I pay the whole thing off with a Visa credit card (VISA) over the phone without doing a cash advance? The collection agency is ENCORE.
The places I researched make it very clear that by “qualifying purchases” they mean purchases made for store items and that sort of thing, rather than using their check writing feature, which they consider a cash advance and doesn’t count. But I’d sure love to take advantage of getting lots of miles for all the money I spend on my mortgage….
I thinking about buying a car 20grand out the door max. I dont want a lecture on credit please.
1. One is to buy car and put it on my credit card. Can this be done? Do dealership take credit cards?
2. I have really good credit and get these blank 0% APR until, lets say July 2007 all the time. I can use these for purchase or deposit it in my bank account but it will be treated as a cash advance and has a max fee of $90. So if I write a check for $10,000, there will be a fee of $90. So I was thinking of writing the check to the dealership or myself. When July 07 comes and interest rate kick in, I would transfer that balance to another credit card with 0% offer. So overall I pay 0% interest and all I lose is about $90 in fees, and my car will probably be paid off by the time the promotion period ends.
my income is over the states median average, but i pass the means test #2, which my income is less than what is going out per month. also, i have 648.00 per month going out in 401k loan. i know 401k loan doesnt count as debt, its counted as disposable income. even not counting 401k loan my debt is still greater than monthly income. i have a house that i dont want to lose. my last cash advance was in january worth about 12,000. is chap 7 feasable wiping slate clean? will i be forced into chap 13? will i lose everything? thanks

Please can you tell me if I can pay cash over the counter at a Carphone Warehose shoip as we cannot pay via Direct debit anymore as our account is not in use due to financial difficulties and we have fallen behind on our phone bill. We need to get the phone back on so we can sort out our financial difficulties. We spoke to someone on the phone from TalTalk but they were nbot sure if we could pay cash over the counter - clever eh - the staff dont know the answers!!!
Anyway we were hoping that someone out here would know if we could pay cash over the counter at a Carp[hone Warehopuse shop - the one in particul;ar is the Carphone Warehouse shop in Macclesfild, Cheshire. For some reason we cant pull it up on the net to find out as our computer is throwing a flidder again.
Hope you can help us as we are in a bit of a mess and really need the phone back on to try to sort this situation out.

Have you tried Discover’s cash over?
I know it is not treated as a cash advance.
But do you pay interest right away on that money?
The regular interest on my Discover is 15.99% and cash advance 22.99%. I do not want to pay 15.99 interest on that cash over.
(I tried asking this in credit with no answer- please forgive me repeating here).
I made an error on a check and went over my cash advance limit. I then tried to rectify it plus fees to my university (wrote a new check that is WITHIN my limit). The credit card company cancelled the SECOND check wrongly and gave me a credit. Three days ago they REASSESSED the fee. I called and the first person I talked to told me that the supervisor came and decided that I SHOULD be assessed the fee and reinstated it. Then I talked to the supervisor and they said my school (university of michigan) attempted to run the RETURNED check again. My school is telling me I don’t owe them any money and that the check hasn’t been returned. All they have assessed me is the first check that was over the limit (which suprise suprise, they didn’t try to run through again after it was returned)..so someone is making a mistake.
What do I do??

I was given a gift card of $500 from National City Bank. It is one of those with the visa logo on it. The thing is, I would like to put the money in my own bank account but you cannot get a cash advance on these types of cards. You can only “buy” things and make purchases. I am wondering if I can “buy” a money order for $500 and then use it on myself. Is that possible?
